Cool, right? . When I was first introduced to biof

Cool, right?
.
When I was first introduced to biofeedback 10 years ago it was the first taste I had of real agency in my body.
.
I consider it the gateway modality for everything I experienced and studied after (including Somatic Experiencing which is the framework I currently use with my 1:1 clients and teach about in my nervous system skills courses).
.
Among other things, biofeedback can be an extremely effective treatment for anxiety, phobias, depression, migraines, tension headaches, hypertension, TMJ, GI issues and chronic pain.
.
I’ve personally used it to reduce my incidence of migraines to almost zero and am currently using it to gain conscious control over seemingly involuntary muscle contractions that affect my quality of breath and interrupt my speech.
.
Patterns in our bodies are learned which means they can be un-learned — and I think that’s SO cool.
.

My new friend, @therumana (who is 15 years younger than me), turned me into a reels model for the day 😊

I took her to Parque México, which was one of my favorite places the first time I visited Mexico City.

If you’re wondering how many takes are required to create a 15 second video like this, the answer is A LOT (I needed a nap after lol).

It was a fun experience to get creative with a new friend + I’m so impressed with @therumana’s editing.
